Wishes of Peace
One black feather in the ground.
Harsh crow cawing all around.
Here our sons are buried,
hardened now dead of war.
We see the gods are saddened;
down and down the heavens pour.
In the kind earth we place them,
who takes in all without complaint.
Forever here shall rest our sons,
Long shall it be ‘til we reacquaint.
But the lessons learned shan't be forgotten
for high was their price in blood...
Now and forever onward,
let boots only splash in water and mud!
Here our sons are buried,
hardened, now dead, of war.
We see the gods are saddened;
down and down the heavens pour.
In the kind earth we place them,
who takes in all without complaint.
Forever here shall rest our sons,
Long shall it be ‘til we reacquaint.
May the lessons learned be not forgotten
High was their price in blood.
Now and forever onward,
May boots splash only in water and mud!
